Camera Critters

Photobucket
Some bison pictures I took during my stay at Yellowstone two years ago (two years? I can't believe it, it feels like a few months ago and I so want to go back!).

On our drive to Mammoth Hot Springs, two herds of bison crossed the street and brought everyone to a stop. They came really close and I could have rolled down the window and touched their flanks, if I had been entertaining any suicidal notions ;)

This guy was grazing right next to the street, the photo is taken without zooming in at all.

Bison and hot springs - quite a view. Yellowstone is definitely one of the most astonishing and beautiful places I have ever been to.

I love that photo of the bison walking down the road and next to the cars. Its kinda nice that animals and people are starting to live together in harmony on some levels.

I used to work with Bison when I was in college at the Wild Animal Habitat. We had a male named Bob. He was so cool! Massive and wooly.

Jennifer: Landed on a daily-photo-blog where you commented and headed on over to your virtual world. Since you are a librarian, wanted to alert you to the fact that we featured our local library system twice last week. We have great libraries in Greensboro, NC, US.

Hope you can find time to stop by!

Great photos. Love your humor in the post!!

I've had to stop the car for cows, birds, turtles... but never for bison.
