Camera Critters: Flight of the Bumblebee

A Large Earth Bumblebee (Bombus terrestris) aiming for a flower.

It has landed and scrambles inside the flower to get a drink of nectar.

The flower deposits pollen on the back of the bumblebee (with the long stem you can see in the first picture).

Hi,Jennifer! Beautiful photo!Thanks for your comment! I sowed the seeds last week but I don't see any sprouts yet, but it has been dry till yesterday, when it was pouring buckets. Hopefully the flowers will come soon. Be sure that I'll tell you! Have a wonderful weekend!

These are really great. I've yet to get a really good shot of one of the "big bees." I think maybe I'll still a little more leery of getting close to them, not like with the honey bees.
